August 2024:

Congrats to our Wen H Ko Summer Internship students! Dylan Zhu won first place at the summer poster session and Julianne Sweet will be presenting her poster at BMES in October!

Welcome Ricardo Siu! He will be joining our team as a Research Associate. He received his PhD from Florida International University and has completed post docs at University at Louisville and here at CWRU

July 2024: 

Congratulations to Hamid for his new positions as a tenure-track professor in CWRU's Biomedical Engineering Department as well as becoming the Director of Limb Loss and Prosthetics Research at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC!  Read more about what new opportunities these roles are bringing here!

June 2024:

Congratulations to Srikanth for passing his qualifier exam and reaching an important milestone in his PhD career!

APTC iCON Research Symposium - May 30th 2024:

Our team had a fantastic showing at the first annual APTC iCON Research Symposium with Eileen, Hannah, Lindsey, and Suzhou all presenting posters. (LinkedIn post)

Special congratulations to Hannah for winning 1st place for her poster describing on investigating sensory nerve stimulation and diabetic neuropathy!  Suzhou and Eileen took home 2nd and 3rd place in an all around great day for ReLLiNC.

Special thanks to Eileen who served as a student co-chair with Gabrielle Labrozzi on the event committee!  Thanks to the hard work of the committee lead by Janet Gbur the event was a huge success!

May 2024:

Our team's research was showcased at VA Research Week as well as demonstrated to congressional staff and VA representatives.  Moreover, one of our participants had the opportunity to meet with the Secretary of the VA!  See the pictures and read more here.

Suzhou won two awards from the Biomedical Engineering Deparment: Outstanding Biomedical Engineering Student in Neural Engineering & Rehabilitation and the Outstanding Publication Award!  Congratulations Suzhou!  Check out the other award winners on LinkedIn and read the award winning paper here.

April 2024:

Suzhou won the prestigious Kouros Azar Neural Engineering Research Excellence Award. Congratulations Suzhou!!

Lindsey was selected for the MSK T32 Musculoskeletal training grant! This fellowship provides a lot of support and opportunities to graduate students

Eileen gave a great pitch at the regional 3MT conference in St. Louis! While she didn't make it to the finals, it was a great experience overall

February 2024: Congratulations to Eileen and Suzhou for their pitches as part of CWRU's Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition!   Participants have one slide and three minutes to explain their research in a compelling way that's understandable to a broad audience.  Out of 24 finalists Eileen won 1st place and Suzhou captured 3rd!  See the post on LinkedIn and links to the recorded presentations coming soon!

January 2024: Congratulations to Eason for his acceptance into the Integrated BS/MS in BME here at Case! We are excited that he will be continuing his work in our lab.  

December 2023: Congrats to Mau for winning second place at Intersections, Case Western University's fall undergraduate research symposium! See the post on LinkedIn

November 2023: Our participant was featured on Spectrum News 1 in celebration of National Veterans Month! He was able to share his story and experiences, including some of the work he's been a part of at the VA. Watch the piece here.

October 2023: Hannah and Lindsey gave podium presentations and Mau and Anish presented posters on their work at the Biomedical Engineering Society annual meeting in Seattle. Check out the LinkedIn post about the conference

September 2023: Suzhou published his findings about how electrical stimulation interacts with reflexes in the lower limbs. This work has important implications for understanding how sensory information is integrated and helps inform his current work studying stumble recovery in people with lower limb amputations. August 2023: Congratulations to Mau Koishida and Anish Knot for having their abstract accepted for poster presentations at the Biomedical Engineering Society! View the LinkedIn post about their abstract.
